MY FIRST MESSAGE!

Hi loves! I am so beyond excited to post my first post or blog or whatever you call this! I am so blessed to be able to be here with you guys talking about my first topic: Ways to show yourself love. I know I will address this topic more than once because to me it is such an important thing to do because a happy body is a happy mind.


To show yourself self love, I give myself grace. When I say this, I do NOT mean 24/7. I definably have my times where if I eat a cookie, I feel so guilty and gross. But when you show yourself grace, you show yourself love. Grace can be anything from taking time for yourself ("me time") to saying out loud what you are proud of yourself for doing today. Even if you have a lazy day, you still did something that you should be proud of. For instance, getting off of tiktok or going for a walk or having a family dinner and you contribute to a good conversation. Whatever your day holds, always show yourself grace because it leads to an easier and more light hearted feelings and mentality.


Another way to show yourself self love is to eat. That's it, literally eat. You should NEVER feel guilty for treating yourself. Your body takes you everywhere everyday and does such incredible things for you. It deserves a treat. I catch myself feeling guilty about ice cream or even peanut butter but what does that guilty feeling do for me? Nothing. Me beating myself up over something so small does nothing but tear me down. If you catch yourself beating yourself up over food, just say to yourself this affirmation: "My body works so hard and it deserves a treat." Another one is, "Food is fuel, my body needs food to live." I use these affirmations when I catch myself feeling terrible after overeating even in the slightest or again, treating myself. Food is fuel. Never forget that.


Going off food, your body needs rest just as much too. Letting your body take a day off from working out and all the chaos of the world helps your mind and body feel at peace. I love my day offs because I know that I am doing something good for by body and letting it relax and just reset from all my workouts and stress. Give your body some love, some time, some pampering and some care because it does wonders for your everyday.


I am keeping this message short because again, it is my first one! But my last key point of this blog is to just be mindful of how you are feeling. If you aren't in the mood to go out, don't. Don't push yourself to do things that you don't want or need to do. As a college student, my friends go out like 4 days a week. That isn't for me and I know that because I listen to myself. If my body is tired or I just don't have the energy to go out, why would I put myself in that situation? Going out with your friends when you are exhausted is no fun AT ALL, so why would I do that to my self and my body? If your body is hungry, not bored hungry but hungry hungry, eat. You being hungry is your body telling you it needs food. Same with when you are tired, your body is telling you that it needs rest. So if you listen to your body and how you are feeling, it helps you feel better in the long run physically and mentally.
